The hypromellose contained in Viscosan increases the viscosity of the tear fluid and reduces the surface tension. The solution stays on the eye and provides the cornea with good protection against eye irritations caused by non-infectious causes.
When instilled into the conjunctival sac, the solution spreads quickly over the entire surface of the eye and forms a thin, transparent film that adheres well to the cornea and conjunctiva of the eye and ensures adequate moistening.
For the symptomatic treatment of drying out of the cornea and conjunctiva (“dry eye”) caused by tear secretion and dysfunction, as a result of local or systemic diseases, as well as insufficient or incomplete eyelid closure
For wetting and rewetting of hard contact lenses
0.32% hypromellose, cetrimide, disodium monohydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, disodium edetate, sorbitol, water for injections.
